Item Description

Crystallized gold specimens are RARE from the famous Sudbury District, even moreso from the obscure mines in the Shining Tree area. Gold was discovered here in 1911 and the mines were abandoned by early in World War II. This very showy and rich combination piece features bright leaf and hackly gold clusters concentrated on the face of iron oxide-tinted tiny quartz crystals. Ex University of Arizona Collection. The former dealer label has a $1850 price on it, which is what we gave in exchange.
