Gold on Quartz

Item Description

This is a nice representative thumbnail specimen of the classic, well-known, eye-catching Golds from the Timmins area in Ontario. You can't find these on the market anymore and we were fortunate that a couple of good friends (Frank and Wendy Melanson) had a few left in their inventory before they sold everything off. These are confirmed from Timmins, but unfortunately they couldn't give us a specific mine where they were found, and it's impossible to know for sure since there are dozens of mines in the area. You can clearly see that the front face of the specimen features brilliant metallic Gold sitting on the slab of white-grey colored Quartz. Very attractive with magnification, and we photographed the piece with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. A great thumbnail for any fan of native elements collector, or a fan of thumbnails or Canadian minerals.
