Item Description
Microcrystalline sponge gold is noted on three areas of the sculptural, large, blocky quartz matrix with limonite from the less well-known and extinct underground Zn-Pb-Au-Ag-Cu, Mystic Mine of Maricopa County. The largest mass on the piece on the right side is 6 mm across. Other gold patches on the upper left and center of the matrix are smaller. Mining took place from the 1970s into the early 1990s. The mine was closed, the land reclaimed and is now under a gold course. Ex De Natura (Les Presmyk) collection and valued by Les at $650. Uncommon and rarely seen Arizona gold from this obscure locale.
