Item Description

Ouro Preto is famous for glamorous "Imperial" topaz crystals. Gold specimens from here are rare and are EXTREMELY RARE from this iron mining district, noted for fine hematite specimens. About five bright gold flakes to 2 mm are scattered on one face and on the edges of this nifty, nubby, river-worn cobble of sparkly crystallized hematite. This combination is perhaps a unique rarity from Ouro Preto. Ex Matioli Collection.
