Item Description

A fantastic, rare and historic specimen of Gold from the famous Sunnyside mine. The micro Gold has a bright metallic appearance, and is most uncommonly associated with GYPSUM along with the rare telluride Colorado and two other unidentified tellurides according the to label from the famous Colorado mineral collection of Richard A. Kosnar whose hand-painted locality name is on the bottom of the specimen. This piece would make a fine addition to a Colorado suite, or even more specifically, a San Juan mineral suite. It was collected by a miner by the name of Max Gallegos of Ouray, Colorado in 1964. The piece later purchased by Richard Kosnar in 1990 directly from Max. Valued at $900 for the rare association, pedigree and CLASSIC locality.
