Item Description
A sculptural rounded, alluvial gold nugget from one of Australia's most famous gold fields - Bendigo. The richly colored vuggy piece still hosts pieces of the quartz matrix, that in most cases gets eroded away to leave the free nugget so common from the Australian gold fields. Matrix specimens of good quality are RARE from here. We have not done a specific gravity test, but a large portion is surely gold. Mass is 39 grams. The current bullion price per gram of gold is over $57 USD and nuggets like this should sell for 2-3x spot. Specimen gold is higher. Old piece from the 1990s or early 2000s, Taylor Hunt Collection.
