Item Description
Visible gold in any quality or form is rare from Namibia. This solid, shapely, water-worn, hemispherical nugget is composed of rich yellow gold. The multiple gold-bearing quartz veins in this deposit were mined from 1917 until 1963. The majority of the historical gold production came from proximal alluvial-eluvial deposits from 1923-45. This nugget undoubtably dates to that period. Ex. Sussman Collection. Mass is 64 carats or 13 grams. The current price for gold is $42.89US/gram or nearly $560 just at spot. Specimen gold is more, especially from uncommon locales like this.
