An amazingly sculptural, slightly rounded alluvial gold nugget from Placer County and the George Elling Collection. The enclosing matrix was naturally dissolved or mechanically removed to give this striking biomorphic form. Presented vertically this adorable thumbnail looks like a meerkat standing on its haunches with tucked in front legs and a rounded head with sharp nose. Cute! 41.59 carats or over 8 grams mass.
