Item Description
A sawed/slabbed Gold specimen from the Sunnyside mine in the San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado. This piece features patches of bright native Gold in white Quartz matrix with associated Galena, Sphalerite and Chalcopyrite. This material is sometimes referred to as "Cloud Gold" for the fact that it looks like it's floating inside the Quartz like a cloud. A good representative Gold specimen from this now defunct, but highly significant Colorado Gold mine. It should be noted that the Sunnyside produced over $150,000,000 in total metals during its life.
