Item Description
Disseminated bright Gold with Pyrite is visible on both sides of this sculptural unpolished ore slab with Quartz and sulfides from the famous Idarado Mine of Colorado's San Juan Mountains. Such pieces are RARE from here and is probably from the Argentine Vein. The Argentine Vein was a prolific specimen gold producer in the 1970s. See the fine 2011 Idarado Mine article in the Lithographie No. 15 issue, The San Juan Triangle of Colorado. The mine closed in 1978. Mass is 37 grams. A MUST for the San Juans, Colorado or Gold collector! Value??
