Gold specimens are EXTREMELY RARE from any of the 8 pages of localities listed for the Mother Lode in Amador County in MINDAT (1 photo!). Bright, mellow-yellow, hackly gold is richly concentrated on one face of the massive vein quartz specimen. This fine, possibly unique piece is from the very obscure Mary Hawley Mine in the Jackson area. Ex Jack Parnau Collection. Ex Bob Trimmingham Collection, deceased Professor at Stanford University. A must locality or species collector.
