Bright, microcrystalline, hackly gold is aesthetically clustered atop the thin crystallized quartz vein on this showy thumbnail from this ancient gold mining district started by the Romans around 2000 years ago. Ex Herb Obodda Thumbnail Collection # 2479 and comes with a 19th Century label that says "Magyar" or the name Hungarians called themselves. Transylvania (part of Romania) was in the Austro-Hungarian Empire in the 19th Century. The handwriting is in German. Classic and showy old-time material with a great old label.
