Item Description

This specimen of gold in quartz showcases bright, metallic crystalline gold from the 16 to 1 mine. The 16 to 1 Mine is the most prolific and famous mine in the Alleghany District and is known for its wonderful specimen-quality pockets of native gold. The mine has been in nearly constant operation since its discovery in 1896. From a small collection of golds recently broken up and sold by a well known local Dallas dealer in gold specimens. Small, but exquisite, with sharp and 3-dimensional crystals!
