Item Description
Mineral specimens of any species are uncommon and gold specimens are RARE from this old mining district. A 5 mm, bright, curved, flattened, spinel-twinned or hoppered gold crystal is very aesthetically set atop the sculptural limonite matrix, that hosts nicely flanking calcite cleavages. Such combinations are very rare and this piece is from a very obscure mine in the district, that is not listed in MINDAT. Ex Arthur Flagg Collection, prominent Arizona collector who died in 1961. The numbers match. Undoubtably old-time material, but no proof.
