Gold (good crystallization)

Gold specimens from Leadville are not common on the market, and typically are snatched up immediately by collectors when they are made available. Recently, a local digger discovered a small amount of crytallized Gold specimens on the dumps of the Little Johnnie Mine, and this piece is one of said specimens. The piece is a small CRYSALLIZED specimen of Gold featuring some well-defined octahedra, along with some interesting skeletal and compressed habits. Minor Quartz is present as well. The piece was photographed by Angela Kosnar using a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens to better show the detail. You don't often see this kind of crystallization from Leadville, very attractive. A great little Gold specimen from this historic and classic Colorado locality.
