Item Description
A classic and very hard to find Gold specimen from the famous Glory Hole just outside of Central City, Colorado. Black Hawk and Central City were the site of the first major gold rush in Colorado, and was right in the middle of what was called "The Richest Square Mile on Earth" for its prolific gold production starting in the 1860s through the early 1900s. This little thumbnail specimen features crystalline and semi-"leaves" of brilliant glowing metallic Gold with minor associated Quartz. Very attractive up close, and a must have for any Gold collector or a fan of historic specimens from famous localities. From the Colorado collection of Richard A. Kosnar, the well-known dealer and the namesake for the species Kosnarite. Specimen weight is 0.33 grams.
