Item Description

This specimen is from a discovery in the 1970s at the Piolho Claim in far northwestern Brazil. It is a wonderful small thumbnail specimen of Native Gold with beautiful color and form. Upon close inspection one can see that it is clearly crystallized and even shows a bit of skeletal faces on one side. The habit is a combination of dodecahedra and octahedra. You can see it has a gorgeous bright metallic color and it is crystallized all the way around. Like I said, it' best seen with magnification, and we photographed it with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. The piece is small, weighing in at 0.11 grams, but it's a wonderful piece to add to a micro suite or a collection Native Elements or Brazilian Golds from less common localities.
