Gold is not often seen from the Dawson Mining District, but there are some placer operations that produce small yet very attractive crystallized specimens. This attractive specimen features semi-elongated, skeletal (though somewhat rounded from rolling around in the creek), bright, metallic octahedral crystals of Gold free of matrix. Very beautiful to view with a loupe! A great piece to add to a Gold collection for the locality, or simply a rare specimen of Gold from this remote part of Canada.
