An impressive, large and rare old-time goethite specimen from this famous and historic polymetallic, barite and fluorite mining district. The striking complete all-around solid specimen has both lustrous, metallic fibrous and dramatic smooth faces, adding pizzazz. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 3142 and acquired from the Dawson's at the 1963 Long Beach Show. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). This very fine old-timer comes with a century old German label.
