Item Description

A fine example of these well-known classic Utah pseudomorphs. These pieces are world famous, and date back at least 80 years, because they were mentioned in Rocks and Minerals in 1937. This piece is definitely an older specimen because it came from an old East Coast collection, and comes with an historic label from the legendary mineral dealer, Hugh A. Ford. Since the label has Ford's New York address, it dates to 1946-1957, This is a superb, good sized example of these beautiful pseudomorphs (Goethite replacing Pyrite), with an antique bronze luster and yet retained the thin striations on their faces. The largest crystal measures 2.0 cm. Great condition all around, and certainly worth picking up for any collector of pseudomorphs, minerals from the western United States, or just interesting historic pieces.
