Item Description
Wow! This is undoubtably the most unusual and striking large pseudomorphs we have offered at auction from any locality. Goethite has casted a very large and sharp gypsum crystal. The goethite cast is coated with scintillating, water-clear to iron oxide-included, calcite micro-rhombs, which in turn are richly coated with a second generation of mico goethite blades. The interior is otherworldly. A heavily etched remnant of gypsum variety gem selenite look like icicles in the back of the cast. Below that is another pseudomorph! Snow-white gypsum has casted a large calcite rhomb, which in turn, has been partially etched away. So, we have a double casted pseudomorph. Dramatic and possibly unique material from a recent find at the famous San Antonio Mine at Santa Eulalia. Value of such an unusual large pseudo???
