Goethite ps. After Gypsum (Stoudt Coll.)

Item Description

A long, slender terminated gypsum crystal has been entirely replaced by goethite, retaining the form of the gypsum crystal. The center is hollow, and the gypsum is now completely gone. Interesting chemistry here, as one side is lustrous, while the other side has a matte finish. This pristine fanciful piece looks like the burnt-out tree trunk or limb. Ex Dave Stoudt Collection.
