Item Description

This is a great display specimen from one of the most storied and well known districts in Colorado. The pegmatites near the Lake George area of Colorado have produced what most collectors and dealers consider to be the finest Amazonite specimens from the standpoint of superb color, top quality, wonderful display specimens and excellent associations. This particular specimen, has no Amazonite, but it is a wonderful display piece featuring sharp, lustrous, foliated, black-brown "sprays" of Goethite sitting atop a partial, sharp, translucent crystal of Smoky Quartz with rarely seen, sharp, gemmy, "phantom" purple cubic crystals of Fluorite! The piece has fantastic aesthetics, and displays very well. Keep in mind that this specimen was collected over 30 years ago (1980) when Richard Kosnar found some of the finest specimens from the Lake George area. Don't miss out on this great Colorado "classic". Valued at $700-$850.
