Goethite on Microcline

A superb piece featuring sharp, lustrous, bronze-black, flattened prismatic crystals of Goethite forming a beautiful crystallized spray on a pink Microcline matrix. Goethite isn't usually particularly attractive and is rarely seen in actual crystals and Colorado specimens like this are an exception! The Goethite crystals here are up to 1.5cm in length, display a dep bronze-gray color with good luster. There is divergence to this spray along with some jumbled, random growth areas of crystals and a flattened area in the middle composed of smaller, shorter crystals. The pink Microcline makes for great contrast and a small, Smoky Quartz crystal is a great accent!
