Goethite on Cerussite ps. after Anglesite (rare & classic locale)

A RARE combination pseudomorph and an uncommon classic of the famed Broken Hill deposit. This is an exceptional miniature example of this unique in the world find! Glassy, adamantine lustre cerussite has replaced an aesthetic and sculptural intergrown cluster of very sharp rhombohedral anglesite crystals, to about 1.5 cm. The pseudos were then dramatically coated with lustrous rust-brown to black goethite. The broken goethite coatings reveal the underlying reticulated cerussite crystals, adding much character and contrast to the goethite. These fascinating rarities came from a small 1989 find at the bottom of the large Kintore opencut, active from the late 1980s to 1996. The opencut worked the remaining oxide portion of the southern end of the Broken Hill lode and was known for its wealth of secondary mineral species (MINDAT).
