Item Description
While Calcite is not considered rare from Charcas, this specific style is certainly hard to find. The piece features compressed / tabular crystals of Calcite, which are coated by dark brown Goethite, to create a beautiful contrast. The individual faces of the Calcite crystals are actually highlighted more by the Goethite, and you can see a unique almost crosshatch pattern when you look closely at the smaller crystals on specimen. A wonderful, and certainly different kind of Calcite from this well-known locality in Mexico.
