Goethite (fine quality)

Please note: The given locality for this specimen is Buckalowie Creek in South Australia, Australia, but I can't find a listing for this locality in any database, so it's either from a unique / rare find, or possibly mislabeled. With that said, this piece is a very fine quality miniature sized specimen of Goethite featuring excellent, lustrous, botryoidal groups, free of matrix. At first, I thought this could be a classic Goethite from Germany, but it's honestly BETTER than most I've seen from various German localities. The piece is in very good condition all around, and displays beautifully as you can see from the video. A showy and fine quality Goethite specimen, which is saying something for a species that is not often found in very good display pieces. This specimen comes from the collection of our own Alex Venzke (#209), member of the leadership team of the Young Mineral Collectors group, a member of the mindat.org management team, a board member for the national Friends of Mineralogy organization, a board member for the Mineralogical Society of the District of Columbia, and co-founder and current Vice President of the Friends of Mineralogy Virginia Chapter.
