A classic old-time specimen of Goethite from the Serra da Mina Mine in Setúbal, Portugal. The piece dates back to the late 1990s and is a good representative example of this now hard to find material. The mine is closed, and you won't see any more of them on the market. This cabinet sized specimen hosts attractive spherical groups of dark grey-black colored Goethite measuring up to 1.1 cm across, sitting on massive oxidized Goethite matrix. You don't see many of these around anymore since the mine closed in 2000, so don't pass up the chance to get one of these excellent Goethites for your collection.
