Item Description

Goethite specimens are uncommon from this famous Colorado mountain. Splendent densely parallel-growth terminated black blades dusted with contrasting orange-red iron oxides (especially among the terminations) make for a very showy 360-degree tabular miniature from Pikes Peak. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 3143 and acquired from the Dawson's at the 1963 Long Beach Show. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). Uncommon and excellent Pikes Peak goethite.
