Item Description
A hedgehog-like cluster with raditaing needles of golden-brown goethite that seem to have grown over and outwards from a central cast of quartz(?). There is some red hematite under the goethite, as seen from the back of the piece. The Dorris family said these goethite "berries" came from a one-time pocket they discovered in July during the 2021 season. Ex Alex Venzke. Strange specimen, and an interesting thumbnail piece.
