Item Description
Crystalline Goethite from the pegmatites Pikes Peak in Colorado are some of the finest from anywhere, and this is a really good one. This small cabinet specimen features two radial sprays composed of sharp, lustrous, shiny-black to super dark brown-red blades of Goethite forming beautiful crystallized sprays. The largest spray measures 5.5 cm across and over 4 cm tall composed of hundreds of divergent thin, prismatic crystals and the other is more like a spiky, 3 cm, sphere made up of hundreds of tightly bunched, and much finer crystals. There is very little perceptible damage to the piece and seems to be a floater. Well crystallized specimens like this from Colorado are few and far between. A floater, complete all around.
