Gmelinite (rare - classic locale)

The second excellent and rare Zeolite Group specimen in the auction from this famous Nova Scotia locale. Two generations of gmelinite form this sculptural small cabinet crust. Striking, larger, sharp, lustrous and translucent, pastel-pink, crystals, to 1.2 cm, dominate one end of the piece with an earlier generation of smaller coated crystals covering the rest of piece. Fine gmelinite specimens, such as this, are relatively rare from here and this is a noteworthy two generation example from an East Coast collection
