Item Description

Salmon-colored gmelinite crystals are festooned on this very 3-dimensional, sculptural small cabinet from this well-known giant skarn iron deposit in Kazakhstan. The impressive totally covered "wall" is noteworthy. Gmelinite is a Zeolite Group species, for which the deposit is well-known, including Chabazite, Natrolite, Stellerite and Stilbite. Fine wire Silver specimens also come from here. This rich specimen is illustrated in the MINDAT Photo Gallery for the locale. It is one from earlier exports in the 1990s, and is an unusually large size. Also, it is pretty!
