Item Description
Classic native copper glacial "float" found in Wisconsin. The sculptural flattened, alluvial rounded nodule looks like a fat chicken! The embedded malachite on both sides adds color and character. Float copper is a common occurrence in the Midwest and this piece was transported by glaciers and rivers around 300 miles from Copper Country on the Keweenaw Peninsula in Michigan to Cambria, Columbia County. From an East Coast collection and comes with a faded and water-stained century-old label from Ward's. A RARE, old-time copper specimen from this county. 364 grams mass.
