"Gitter Quartz" is oriented crystal growth, that forms striking patterns and symmetrical facing crystals. The Erongo Mountains in Namibia are one of the few places they are found. The German name is "Gitterquarz" ("fence" or "lattice" quartz). This is a large sculptural 3-sided example, that rests on the fragment of a large feldspar crystal.
