Gitter Quartz and Schorl on Feldspar, with Hyalite Opal and Hematite

Item Description

Classic example of the epitaxial growth of Gitter Quartz on a very large Orthoclase crystal. The Quartz crystals range up to 2.4 cm. They are pristine and actually gemmy, though the luster ranges from frosted to simply average. The best luster is on the smaller Quartz crystals associated with Hematite. There is also a large amount of fluorescent, vibrant green, Hyalite Opal on the specimen, as well as small Schorls. An impressive and visually interesting example of this rare form of Quartz, with excellent associations.
