Item Description
A rare large zeolite combination specimen from this extinct Rome lava flow quarry. The scuptural vug holds glassy, colorless, balls of bipyramidal gismondine crystals to 9 mm, fewer and smaller snow-white chabazite balls, all resting on tufts of golden-brown aragonite needles. The aragonite has brilliant white fluorescence. Ex Giancarlo Fioravanti Collection and acquired in 1960.
