Gilmarite with Conichalcite and Arhbarite (ex Matioli Collection)

Item Description

An incredibly rare miniature specimen of the copper arsenate, Gilmarite from the famous Guanaco Mine in Chile. This specimen features small blades of rich blue-green (similar to Cavansite) Gilmarite associated with green "balls" of Conichalcite along with blue Arhbarite. There is also a very pale blue-green mineral present, but not identified - possibly Chrysocolla or part of the Planerite-Turquoise Series. We used a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to photograph the piece, but it's best viewed under the microscope. Ex Paolo Matioli Collection.
