Item Description
Gillespite, sanbornite and celsian are rare Ba-silicates and this rich and excellent combination old-timer is from this obscure deposit, the Type Locality for sanbornite. Most of the piece is composed of gray sanbornite. Pods and stringers of strawberry-red gillespite are scattered on all sides and add much color. Areas of very glassy and lustrous celsian add character. Sanbornite was discovered in 1932. From an old East Coast collection and comes with a Hugh Ford label dating from 1946-57. Uncommon, rich and fine old combination material. A must for the species or locality collector.
