Item Description
Mordenite is one of the rarer members of the zeolite family. It forms fine sprays of radial acicular crystal clusters that look like pin-cushions or snowballs. Here, you see a huge 8.0 cm "snowball" intergrown with another about half its size. The balls rest on cream-colored stilbites. The balls are complete all-around and you can see the stilbite on the tops of the balls, where they contacted the roof of the vug. A dramatic, striking, sizeable and uncommon Indian specimen.
