Item Description
A DRAMATIC and GIGANTIC, LARGE CABINET fluorite plate from the Elmwood Mine. Two of the translucent, purple fluorite cubes reach 6.8 cm on this monster, which are aesthetically complimented and highlighted by the four clusters of bladed barite and three calcite crystals. The backlit photos highlight the translucency, edge zoning and gorgeous, purple color saturation of the fluorites. This super, large piece is essentially PRISTINE! There is only one, infinitesimal, corner bruise on all of these large fluorites! Specimens have rapidly gone from being relatively plentiful to noticeably scarce, with the closing of the Elmwood Mine. Ex Consie Prince Collection. Fairly valued in today"s market at $2500-5000 depending on who is selling it (but I can really see a spread like that, feasible) for quality, GIANT size and scarcity. Make no mistake, the Elmwood is gone and never coming back into production again so these will become the kind of classics one remembers fondly in later years, as they all disappear into collections.
