Getchellite (superb are rare) with Orpiment and Stibnite

The Twin Creeks Mine is best known for its wonderful, world-classic Orpiment crystals, which are regarded as the finest in the world, but the highlight of this specimen is the excellent blood red Getchellite that can be seen on all sides. This is certainly one of the finest examples of Getchellite that we've ever had to offer in the auctions from this locality. Keep in mind that this rare arsenic antimony sulfosalt is typically not found in specimens that are larger than thumbnails, and this piece has plenty of large eye-visible crystals, on the display side of the piece. The largest Getchellite measures a whopping 1.4 cm across! Associated grey-black Stibnite and beautiful crystallized clusters of bright orange Orpiment make for a wonderful contrast on the specimen, but it's the Getchellite that really maters here. The crystals has a vitreous platy appearance, and good internal gemminess when backlit. A wonderful example of this fairly rare and desirable species from the classic locality. Valued at $1,000 for the overall size, quality and richness of the specimen.
