Item Description
This piece is a full sized rich cabinet sized specimen featuring small areas of dark wine red Getchellite in the form of vitreous, platy crystals, which are embedded on brighter red colored Reaglar with associated muted yellow from the famed Getchell Mine in Nevada, the type locality for Getchellite. The Realgar crystals are admitedly rough, like most of the pieces you'll see from this locality, but there are some distinct and well-formed faces in spots. This is hard to find material, and certainly desirable for the rarity, especially in a piece this size. From the collection of Colin Manlove.
