Gersdorffite (rare) (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

Please note that this specimen was labeled as coming from "Wolfsberg" in Harz, but I'm fairly certain it's from the Heimberg Quarry in Wolfshagen. With that said, this small cabinet specimen features semi-spherical grey-black colored spots of this nickel arsenic sulfosalt which are mixed into the underlying matrix. A cool reference piece of this rare old time material. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#8418). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
