Item Description
Germanite is a rare Cu-Fe-Ge sulfosalt and Tsumeb is the Type Locality. This is a solid 42-gram specimen of germanite-rich ore from the lowest and last of the oxidation zones of the world-famous Tsumeb Mine. This region was noted for its incredible wealth of very rare elements and minerals containing germanium, among others. The germanite ore ranges from bright mauve to splendent metallic-gray, and it can show a colorful purple iridescence. An excellent miniature.
