Item Description
Pure calcite crystals grew in a "natural" empty space during the carbonate mineralization of limestone that built up the matrix. An interesting specimen to think about the calcite in the fossil. This is a good example of a carbonate mineral crystalized in organic, carbonate-rich-outer shell biomass. Ex. Jingnan (Tom) Zhang Coll.
