Item Description
An aesthetic and impressive, decidely different, two-sided vanadinite on barite small cabinet from the major early 1990s finds at Mibladen. Highly lustrous, sharp, well-formed cherry-red color, tabular, hexagonal crystals, richly and attractively cover the front and spill over onto the sides of the sculptural, oxide-coated bladed barite matrix crust. The other side features smaller vannies that are orange-red. The crystals reach 8 mm on the front. The pinacoid faces are lightly frosted, but the prism faces really show the gemmy, cherry color with bright orange flashes. Excellent quality on the front, with fine composition. The bit of brusing reveals the snow-white barite, which really adds contrast and pizzazz to the piece. These specimens deserve more attention for being some of the most impressive representations of the species extant. Valued at $600-800, for aesthetics and excellent gemmy quality of the crystals. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!!
