An elegant and adorable thumbnail pair of gemmy tanzanites from Merelani. Both crystals have water-clear, sharply tapered terminations and you can easily see classic blue and violet-blue pleochrosim on the A and B faces. Graphite or shale is included in the lower sections of the crystals obscuring C-axis color, but there are hints of red under bright light. There is a SUPER surprise on the back side! Two gemmy, terminated, light green diopside crystals, to 8 mm, are are aesthetically set on the tanzanites. Complete all-around and nearly pristine. Scuffing to one of terminations is mostly out-of-sight on the back side of the primary display. An outstanding thumbnail pair of tanzanites with a fine diopside bonus. 24.13 carats mass or nearly 5 grams. A fascinating 360-degree combination cutie. Valued at $1000.
