Gemmy Sphalerite twins & Galena on Quartz

Gemmy, sharp, golden-amber Sphalerite twins, to 2.0 cm, are dramatically clustered and isolated along with Galena cubes and small golden Chalcopyrite sphenoids on the sculptural large, sawed matrix covered with Druzy Quartz. An earlier generation of small, corroded, opaque Sphalerites are also scattered on the specimen. The sphalerites are orange-brown under normal light and really GLOW, when backlit. This is a RARE, impressive and aesthetic large combination from this obscure porphyry-style polymetallic deposit in Jiangxi, China - Dongxiang. All of the many large crystals in the interior appear to be pristine and the bit of noted periphery wear is certainly a modest detraction. 1300 grams or 2.9 pounds mass. Ex Les Presmyk (De Natura) inventory and valued by Les at $3250. Perhaps high on this one, but still a very choice example for the crystal quality. VERY RARE, rich and outstanding large sphalerite and galena combination from the less well-known locale.
