Item Description

Incredibly gemmy, lustrous and striated golden-amber to olive-green sphalerite crystals to 1.3 cm along with metallic-bronze chalcopyrite crystals and scattered clusters of small, etched, metallic-gray galena crystals make for an outstanding and very aesthetic large combination plate from the famous Commodore Mine in Creede, Colorado. The golden flashes from the gemmy sphalerite crystals are really striking. This striking plate looks just like a boot and the back is scintillating, microcrystalline black sulfide. An exceptional, large older classic combination plate from the Bob Trimingham Collection.
